1. The Periyar Nagar Government Servants Co-operative House Sites Distribution Society started Periyar English Nursery and Primary School in June 1981.

2. The school got transferred to the newly formed Periyar Nagar Educational and Charitable Society on 1 st April 1988.

3. The Management of the school steadily raised the school to the level of Matriculation school in 1992. It could be said with pride that the school was upgraded to that of Higher Secondary School during the academic year 1996-97 with due recognition from the Director of School Education, Govt. of` Tamilnadu.

4. The main aim of the Institution is to impart best education to all the students. To achieve this objective, great effort has been taken to avail the services of well trained and qualified teachers who are dedicating themselves to upgrade the standard of each and every student.
